The Contemporary Croatian Photography web portal is designed as an internet photo gallery, which will provide an on-line overview of selected, recent Croatian photography.

The photography represented at this portal could be referred to as conceptual, but if you look at it closely, it is in fact photography which is quiet, unobtrusive and focused on certain issues; the photography which does not aim to please or “attract at first glance”, which does not flaunt, but rather penetrates the issue it’s dealing with. A special space is dedicated to texts by experts who follow the work of artists, as well as artist statements about their work; with the intent of strengthening the connection between photographic practice and theory, the consciousness of the artist and the audience, because no photograph is created accidentally, and each has its own purpose and meaning in a certain context.

We also want this portal to be useful to students, theorists, artists, and anybody who loves photography, as well as to offer food for thought and photography making.

The portal was established in early 2010, and is continually upgraded and refreshed.
